Child Loses Student Status
If your child loses student status, he or she is no longer an eligible dependent. For student status, a child must be under age 25 and a full-time student.
If your child loses student status, you must cancel his or her benefits. However, he or she can continue benefit coverage under COBRA.
Your child's coverage ends on the date the child loses student status. If you are making this change 31 days after the event, you can only drop coverage for your dependents. You cannot make other benefit changes until annual enrollment.
If you are making changes within 31 days of the event, review the benefits below to see the changes you may make or changes that will occur as a result of this life event.
