Important Information About Your Pension Payment and Tax Withholding Basis

On February 1, 2008, the administration of the entire retiree payroll transitioned to a new recordkeeper.  As part of the transition, the new recordkeeper moved you to a fixed tax withholding basis so that each pension payment received in 2008 will have the same tax deduction as the January 2008 payment.

This fixed tax withholding basis will be the basis for all your ongoing pension payments until you change your tax withholding basis from "fixed" to the appropriate withholding basis for your situation.  On My Benefits Access, you can see the effect of different withholding basis on your pension payment.  This will allow you to know in advance what your deductins will be before you make your final decision on a tax withholding basis.  Once you have determined the basis that is right for you, you may confirm it on My Benefits Access or by calling the Northrop Grumman Benefits Center.
